Brilliant! *Music For Neil Segrott By His Friends*

This is a fundraising compilation album, to help our dear friend Neil Segrott who is recovering from a serious brain injury. All money raised will go to him via the justgiving page set up by Laura Ratcliffe (see link below).

(At present it is exclusive to bandcamp and available only as a download... due to logistics and budget constraints there are currently no plans to make physical copies.)

Both bandcamp and PayPal take a percentage and so, if you want to 'buy' this marvellous and massive collection of music we'd prefer if you DIDN'T pay anything on bandcamp, but gave directly using the justgiving link below (although any funds raised on bandcamp will be transferred into the fund - after the fees taken by the aforementioned companies).

WHO...
Neil is a ubiquitous and much loved figure on the Leicester music scene, and far beyond. Whether playing bass onstage or delivering an unparalleled live mix from behind the desk, he has been enriching the world of sound for decades and forging long-lasting friendships as he goes. An ingenious and inventive producer, working out of his own Tiny Studios, he has recorded countless bands and artists (many of whom have contributed to this compilation). As a mastering engineer Neil is truly second to none, due to his immense skill, patience and ear for detail, renowned for having something like perfect pitch for exact frequencies...

Plenty of the recordings here have been shaped by Neil in a number of pivotal performance and production roles, not to mention a few unexpected ones. His skills as a bassist are legendary but some might be surprised to hear his soaring electric guitar on Chris Conway's 'Golden Steps', recorded live to DAT and delivered in one flawless take.

Neil is well known as a sayer of blunt, often hilarious truths and choice quotables (visitors to Tiny Studios can find quite a few pinned to the walls for posterity!). We invited contributing artists to share any of these memorable verbal gems that came to mind, along with reminiscences of working with the man... So please approach the track info with caution (especially if you're a drummer who hits their cymbals too hard!)

The title of this record was chosen for being one of Neil's favourite exclamations and because it also speaks of light and positive energy, stuff we all need right now... It is what we strive for our art to be and it perfectly describes Mr Segrott. This collection of music is our gift to him, and to you.
